| A guest speaker session titled “From Numbers to Judgment: Understanding Business Through an Auditor’s Perspective” was successfully organized and moderated by Dr. Tanveer Illahi, Department of Accounting & Finance, Bahria Business School, Bahria University, on 14 April 2026, featuring Shazil Pervaiz, Director, Assurance and Business Advisory Services at A.F. Ferguson & Co.. The session explored how auditors assess real business situations, connect accounting, finance, taxation, and audit, identify financial statement red flags, and highlight career pathways in accounting, taxation, audit and finance. The discussion also emphasized the growing importance of ESG reporting and its assurance in Pakistan under SECP’s evolving sustainability disclosure framework, alongside the ongoing shift of the banking sector toward Islamic finance, making such industry aligned learning increasingly relevant for future finance professionals. The session aligns with SDGs 4, 8, 9, and 16. |  |
