BU Media House

Media Studies Department E-8 Campus

The Media House at BUIC stands as the creative and professional heartbeat of the Media Studies Department. Designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and industry practice, our Media House serves as a state-of-the-art training ground where students transform into skilled media practitioners. It is a hub of innovation, storytelling, and technical excellence, equipped to meet the evolving demands of the modern digital landscape.

Media House Core Facilities

The Media House is comprised of three primary pillars, each offering a specialized environment for media creation:
  • BUTV (Bahria University Television): A fully equipped, high-definition television studio that serves as the centre for broadcast excellence. Here, students master the art of TV studio production, multi-camera setups, news anchoring, and live broadcast management.
  • FM 102.6 (The Voice of Bahria): Our dedicated radio station provides a platform for aspiring broadcasters and audio engineers. Students engage in the complete cycle of FM production, from scriptwriting and hosting to live sound mixing and podcasting.
  • Post-Production Facility: The creative engine room of the Media House, our post-production suite is equipped with industry-standard software and hardware. It is here that students refine their skills in non-linear video editing, and professional graphic design.

Functions and Training

The Media House operates as a functional laboratory for experiential learning. We take pride in providing rigorous, hands-on training to students in diverse media fields, including:
  • TV Studio & Outdoor Production: Learning the nuances of both controlled studio environments and the challenges of on-location shoots.
  • Visual Storytelling: Mastering video editing and the aesthetic principles of graphic design to create impactful visual content.
  • Audio Excellence: Developing a professional voice and technical proficiency in FM production and sound engineering.

Serving the Bahria Community

Beyond its role as a training centre, the Media House functions as the primary media service provider for Bahria University. We offer extensive digital and broadcast coverage for all university events, seminars, and departmental activities, ensuring that the achievements of the BU community are showcased with professional quality.

Our reach extends beyond the E-8 campus; the Media House team is proud to provide media support and coverage services to other campuses, including H-11 and the Bahria University Health Sciences Islamabad (BUHSCI).
