Train the Trainer Workshop by Mehergarh on Anti Sexual Harassment at Workplace
- Three days residential Train the Trainers workshop on ‘Anti-Sexual Harassment at Workplace’ was organized by ‘Mehergarh’, the organization which worked closely with Alliance Against Sexual Harassment (AASHA) in getting the Anti Sexual Harassment Act 2010 passed from the Parliament.
- The training was offered to selected group of professionals form various organization across Pakistan. It was designed to assist the participants in developing conceptual clarity of the issue, as well as enhancing the compliance and implementation of the relevant law(s), including: ‘Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act 2010’, and Amendment to the Pakistan Penal Code, Section 509.
- The workshop has been of high value for ensuring the implementation these laws in true letter and spirit., encouraging employees to speak out on the issue, especially when one experiences the same at workplace.
- The workshop has been very useful, and it is expected that further trainings would be dispensed by the participants in their respective organizations. The dispensation would be focused on prompting a work environment where everyone can exercise their right to earn with respect and dignity, an no fear of being sexually harassed.
