A stationery distribution project was organized at Dukhtran-e-Islam Academy in Rawalpindi by Bahria University Islamabad for the schools of Helping Hand for Relief & Development (HHRD) on 20th April’ 2018. The stationery items were arranged by Bahria University Islamabad whereas the identification of the school was done by Helping Hand for Relief & Development (HHRD). CSP club students vehemently volunteered for the program.
On arrival to the school, a swarm of welcoming students received the volunteers. Volunteers were divided into three groups and children were accordingly allocated on the basis of their age. Each group was assigned a classroom for carrying out their activities. The activity started with the recitation of Holy Quran, followed by an introductory session from both the volunteers and the children. Volunteers conducted a story telling session. Children raptly participated and later on indulged in an interrogatory session. The response by the students exhibited much creativeness. The purpose of the activity was to rid the monotonous routine of the children and to involve them in an active discussion.
Stationery items and bags were distributed amongst the kids. They happily accepted the items and expressed their gratitude.
A group photo was captured at the end of the activity to make it memorable.
