Bahria University invites applications from suitable candidates for the post of Research Fellow at National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA).

QUALIFICATIONS:

• PhD in Maritime related field, Environment, Economics, Public Policy

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

• Preferably 10 years’ research/field/faculty/think tank experience with at least 02 years Post Ph.D. research experience in reputed Universities and National/International organizations.
• Preference will be given to those having publications of Policy papers, Research Reports, and newspaper articles in the maritime domains such as Shipping, Ship recycling, Maritime Policies, Governance, etc., in addition to minimum criteria for HEC-recognized journals.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Develop a research and policy outreach program as a tool to achieve maritime goals.
• Undertake original research around a selected theme within the overall approved research program at NIMA.
• Thorough scrutiny and evaluation of policies, acts, regulations, etc. governing the maritime sector.
• Evaluation and assessment of various sectors of Blue Economy and Strategic maritime affairs.
• Prepare & submit research proposals to various partner agencies/HEC.
• Manage and administer research projects, supervise project staff, and ensure the preparation of quality narrative reports.
• Coordinate and manage research projects involving other researchers from within or outside NIMA, and for this purpose conceptualize and design planning meetings, follow-up on research contracts, establish deadlines and standards for research papers, and peer review/ finalize the research publications in the area of expertise.
• Conceptualize & design research conferences, workshops, seminars, and other forms of the dissemination of the research output of the Institute.
• Edit & Compile research papers (IRPs, GRPs, etc.) for publication as monographs or edit values.
• Respond to requests for policy advice from the public and private sectors in the area of expertise.
• Provide support to NIMA capacity building by conceptualizing, planning/organizing, and conducting courses under the ambit of NIMA.
• Any other assignment given by  NIMA on time to time basis
