The Department of Professional Psychology, Bahria University H-11 Campus, organized a guest lecture titled "ACT in the Age of AI: Psychological Flexibility, Digital Mental Health & the Future of Psychotherapy" to broaden students’ understanding of contemporary developments in psychotherapy. The Department was pleased to welcome Dr. Uzma Ilyas, Assistant Professor at Forman Christian College University, Lahore, who delivered the session as guest speaker.
The lecture explored the growing relevance of psychological flexibility in a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence and digital technologies. Dr. Uzma discussed the core principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and how these can inform both clients and practitioners navigate the psychological pressures of an AI-driven environment. The session also touched upon the opportunities and challenges of digital mental health tools, encouraging students to reflect on the future of psychotherapy while underscoring the importance of staying human in an increasingly digital world.
