The Research Cell successfully organized a Research Spotlight Session titled “Introduction and Detailed Overview of IBGE” on 29 January 2026. The session was arranged to provide faculty members and students with valuable exposure to current advancements, research directions, and practical insights in the field of Biomedical and Genetic Engineering.

Proceedings of the Session

The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem. Subsequently, the session was formally opened with opening remarks by Senior Professor Dr. Wafa Omer Director Research BUHSCI, who highlighted the importance of collaborative research, innovation, and the role of institutions such as IBGE in advancing biomedical sciences.

Speakers and Presentations

The session featured distinguished speakers who shared their expertise across various domains of biomedical and genetic engineering:

  • Dr. Qaisar Mansoor (Principal Scientist) delivered a comprehensive presentation on “Introduction and Detailed Overview of IBGE”, outlining the institute’s mission, major research areas, achievements, and its contributions to national and international scientific development.
  • Dr. Nusrat Saba presented Infectious Diseases, discussing current challenges, diagnostic approaches, and research advancements in combating infectious disorders.
  • Dr. Amara Jabeen spoke on Regenerative Medicine, emphasizing emerging therapies, tissue engineering, and future prospects in regenerative healthcare.
  • Dr. Rashda Khan delivered an informative talk on Human Amniotic Membrane, highlighting its biomedical applications, therapeutic potential, and ongoing research trends.

Each presentation was well received and sparked considerable interest among participants, encouraging meaningful interaction, thoughtful discussion, and contributing to a vibrant and engaging academic environment.

A large number of students from the faculty attended and actively participated in the session, contributing to a lively and interactive learning environment.

Conclusion

 The Research Spotlight Session proved to be highly informative and successful in achieving its intended objectives. It offered participants in-depth exposure to contemporary developments, emerging methodologies, and innovative research directions in the fields of biomedical and genetic engineering. The session not only broadened participants’ understanding of complex scientific concepts but also facilitated meaningful knowledge exchange through interactive discussions and scholarly dialogue. At the conclusion of the program, shields were presented to the presenters in recognition of their valuable contributions.

The program concluded with a tea session, followed by a group photograph to commemorate the event.
