Bahria University Health Sciences Campus participates in PNQAHE 6th International Conference at Baqai Medical University, Karachi

In alignment with the mission of Bahria University to uphold academic excellence and promote quality in higher education, Bahria University as one of the gold sponsor of the conference, actively participated in the 6th International Conference organized by the Pakistan Network of Quality Assurance in Higher Education (PNQAHE) at Baqai Medical University, Karachi, held from April 13–15, 2026. The conference, themed “Catalyzing Global Citizenship: The Strategic Role of Quality Assurance in Internationalizing Higher Education,” brought together foreign delegates, national and international experts, policymakers, and academicians to deliberate on emerging trends including artificial intelligence, digital transformation, micro-credentials, and leadership in higher education.

Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC), Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, graced the inaugural ceremony as Chief Guest, alongside eminent dignitaries and thought leaders from across the country. A key highlight of the event was the launch of the PNQAHE Micro-Credential in Quality Assurance, marking a significant step toward strengthening professional development and enhancing competencies in quality assurance practices at both national and international levels.

Honourable Vice Admiral (R) Athar Mukhtar, HI (M), Director General Health Sciences Campus Karachi (BUHSCK), delivered a speech in closing ceremony of the conference. In his remarks, he highlighted the pivotal role of Bahria University in promoting quality-driven education and emphasized the importance of adopting innovative practices, international standards, and continuous improvement mechanisms in higher education. He further underscored the need for institutions to align with global trends to produce competent graduates equipped for future challenges. He appreciated the significance of the conference and stated that such platforms are essential for knowledge exchange, capacity building, and strengthening quality assurance frameworks within academic institutions. She emphasized that participation in international conferences enhances institutional visibility and fosters collaborative opportunities.The BUCAHS team, Prof. Dr. Mehreen Lateef, Mr. Salman Shafiq,  Dr. Sana Aurangzaib actively participated in the conference sessions and academic discussions however,  marketing team members, Dr. Nain tara,                 Dr. Harris, Mr. Janghir showcased BU programs at exibition stall. 

Principal BUCAHS, Professor Dr. Mehreen Lateef, presented a paper on “Transforming Quality Culture In Higher Education: Gap Analysis Based On Implementation  Of Strategic Framework Of  ISO 9001:2015” on 2nd day of the conference.   The presented study highlighted key gaps in academic quality management systems, including documentation, risk management, and stakeholder integration. Dr. Mehreen Lateef emphasized strategic recommendations to strengthen institutional quality, enhance compliance, and promote continuous improvement in higher education.

This participation aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting inclusive and high-quality education systems, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through engagement with national and international stakeholders. Through its active involvement, Bahria University  reaffirmed its commitment to advancing quality assurance practices, academic excellence, and global engagement in higher education.
