To commemorate International Women’s Day 2026, the Department of Professional Psychology, Bahria University H-11 Campus organized a guest lecture on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) on 10 March 2026.
The event featured distinguished speakers Ms. Muneeza Manzoor Butt (District Women Protection Officer and Senior Clinical Psychologist, Multan) and Ms. Meerab Lodhi (Psychologist, Rozan Organization, Islamabad). Both speakers shared valuable insights and professional experiences regarding Gender-Based Violence, addressing the issue from clinical, social, and community perspectives.
Gender-Based Violence remains one of the most pervasive human rights violations worldwide, cutting across cultures, social classes, and national boundaries. It includes physical, sexual, psychological, and economic abuse, disproportionately affecting women and girls and leaving long-lasting impacts on individuals, families, and communities.
Addressing GBV requires sustained policy efforts, social awareness, cultural transformation, and collective responsibility to create safer and more equitable societies where women can live free from fear, discrimination, and violence.
