Bahria University continues to foster both academic excellence and social responsibility through a series of impactful initiatives at its Islamabad and Karachi campuses.
At the Bahria Humanities and Social Sciences School, Islamabad, faculty and students had the privilege of attending an insightful Guest Lecture by Professor Dr. Florian Meissner from Germany. The session focused on Risk Communication in the Context of Cybersecurity and Natural Hazards. With Pakistan facing increasing threats from climate change—including floods, heatwaves, and GLOFs—the lecture underscored the crucial role of media in shaping public awareness, ensuring timely communication, combating misinformation, and strengthening societal resilience.
Professor Meissner shared global best practices for crisis messaging, highlighted the importance of digital platforms during emergencies, and emphasized building public trust in institutions. This session offered our students and faculty valuable perspectives, particularly for those pursuing research in disaster communication, strategic communication, and media studies. Such engagements reflect Bahria University’s commitment to providing international exposure and expert insights, enhancing the academic and professional competencies of our emerging scholars.
Meanwhile, at Bahria University Karachi Campus, the spirit of social responsibility shone brightly on World Disability Day 2025. The campus organized a heartwarming visit to the Special Children School, Karsaz. Students actively contributed to a donation drive, collecting biscuits, juices, chocolates, and other items, which were thoughtfully packed into special goody bags. The event also featured music, games, and interactive stalls, creating an engaging and joyful experience for the children.
This initiative demonstrated the impact of community engagement and the importance of inclusion, highlighting how small acts of kindness can make a significant difference. The university expressed gratitude to all students who participated and contributed to this meaningful cause.
