Admissions Procedure

Admissions are advertised in all the leading newspapers of the country, and are also announced on university and college websites. Candidates have to take MDCAT (NUMS) test for MBBS and BDS programs. BUMDC is affiliated with NUMS for admission purpose only. Candidates desirous of seeking admission in BUMDC, must register online at NUMS website: https://numspak.edu.pk and take its Entry test. MDCAT (NUMS) entry test is Mandatory. Criteria of applying, minimum score required and formulation are given on BUMDC website as well as on NUMS website. These are also placed in the section of Admission Criteria of BUMDC and BU websites. Candidates have to follow instructions given on NUMS website for applying in MBBS and BDS programs.

1. Procedure for candidates seeking admission in BUMDC on open merit in first year MBBS / BDS:

Eligibility criteria

HSSC/Equivalent Aggregate:    Minimum 60%

MDCAT (NUMS)        MBBS    - Minimum 55%

                                  BDS      -  Minimum 50%

Mandatory Steps:

•  Register on NUMS website and take its MDCAT and pass it with minimum 55% score for MBBS and 50% for BDS. Follow all instructions given on its website.
•  For calculating merit, candidates must have minimum of 60% aggregate marks in three science subjects of HSSC out of which Chemistry and Biology are compulsory. For third subject must have taken either Physics or Mathematics. Minimum aggregate marks of three science subjects is 60%.
•  Must also register with NUMS and take its entry test.

2. NUMS will ask choice of colleges from applicants for admissions in MBBS and BDS.  Candidate is to apply as per the choice of Medical / Dental College.

3.  Follow the instructions given on its website.

4.  Select BUMDC in the application as your first choice of college.

5.  NUMS will display the merit list of BUMDC on its website. 

6.  Candidate whose name comes on merit will be asked to submit partial fee to NUMS to secure seat. 

7.  On receiving the name from NUMS in the list of admitted students, candidate will be sent an offer letter from BUMDC with detailed instructions.

8.  Candidate is to visit Admission Office BUMDC Karachi or DHS Office Islamabad alongwith original documents for interview / processing of admission.

9.  Joining Letter for admission at BUMDC will be issued to candidates as per merit list.
