BS MOLECULAR MEDICINE

BS Molecular Medicine Road Map

Department of Molecular Medicine

Molecular Medicine is an emerging field that explores the molecular and genetic mechanisms underlying human health and disease. By integrating molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, immunology, medical biotechnology, genomics, and precision medicine, this discipline helps students understand how diseases develop at the cellular and molecular levels and how scientific discoveries can contribute to improved diagnosis, prevention, and treatment.

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Molecular Medicine at Bahria University College of Allied Health Sciences (BUCAHS), Bahria University Health Sciences Campus, Karachi, is a four-year undergraduate degree designed to develop a strong foundation in the biological and molecular sciences, alongside practical laboratory skills, analytical thinking, and research competencies.

The program introduces students to contemporary areas of molecular medicine, including molecular diagnostics, molecular pathology, molecular oncology, gene therapy, genetic engineering, stem cells and regenerative medicine, genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence applications in molecular medicine, and precision medicine.

Through a combination of theoretical learning, laboratory-based courses, internship experience, elective subjects, and a final-year research project, students develop the scientific knowledge and practical skills needed to explore evolving challenges in biomedical research and molecular healthcare.

The program aims to prepare graduates for further education, scientific research, and professional development in relevant biomedical, biotechnology, and life-science fields.
