Pharmacology & Therapeutics Department

The Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at Bahria University College of Medicine is dedicated to excellence in the promotion of rational, evidence-based use of medicines. The department provides students with a comprehensive understanding of drugs, including their mechanisms of action, therapeutic applications, adverse effects, and drug interactions, through interactive lectures, practical sessions, and case-based learning. Emphasis is placed on safe prescribing, patient safety, pharmacovigilance, and emerging concepts such as personalized medicine, genetic influences on drug response and advanced novel drug delivery systems. Through academic mentorship, research activities, and interdisciplinary collaboration, the department aims to prepare future physicians to make informed and responsible therapeutic decisions in clinical practice. The department provides services including drug information services for doctors and healthcare staff,Adverse drug reaction (ADR) monitoring and reporting,Therapeutic drug monitoring, Clinical pharmacology, consultation on rational drug use, Research in pharmacology and clinical therapeutics.

Prof Naila Abrar brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role of head of department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics. With around two decades of dedicated teaching experience, she has significantly contributed to the academic and professional growth of countless students. Her commitment to excellence continues to inspire students and lead the department with distinction.
