Examinations Dte is responsible to the Rector through Pro-Rector (Academics) for all matters concerning examinations and coordination with constituent and affiliated institutions, while ensuring accuracy, transparency, secrecy and efficiency.  

The Directorate plays a pivotal role in managing the University’s examination and academic record systems. Its core functions include scheduling semester-based and annual examinations, compiling and declaring results, and maintaining up-to-date students’ record with secure backups. It prepares and issues transcripts, gazette notifications, and degree particulars, and verifies BU degrees and transcripts for graduates and external stakeholders. The Directorate also conducts examinations for affiliated units, reviews and updates course codes in line with university policy, and annually revises the Course Codes Handbook.

Additionally, it advises the Rector and Pro-Rector (Academics) on improving examination procedures, updates the BU Examinations Policy, participates in accreditation and regulatory visits, serves on key academic and statutory committees, acts as Secretary to the BU Affiliation Committee, and performs other duties assigned by the Pro-Rector (Academics).

The Directorate manages the Question Databank for Health Sciences annual programs, covering database validation, exam moderation, question paper printing, and conduct of examinations. It oversees all matters of affiliated units, particularly Frontier Medical & Dental College, including inspections, examinations, and supervision of marking.  

The Directorate also processes PhD graduates’ PCD applications through the HEC portal, addresses students’ examination-related complaints, maintains and analyzes examination records, and ensures accurate transfer of results from CMS to the Exam Record Database in compliance with HEC and BU policies.
