Iqbal Chair at Bahria University was established in October 2018 as an academic and intellectual platform dedicated to the dissemination and application of Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s thought. The Chair works to promote Iqbal’s Qur’anic philosophy among students, faculty of Bahria University, and the wider community through research, dialogue, and capacity-building initiatives. A central endeavour of the Chair is to translate Iqbal’s message into practical and implementable frameworks, enabling its meaningful incorporation across diverse domains of the Ummah’s intellectual, social, educational, and institutional affairs.

Its core activities include organizing annual national and international Iqbal Conferences (held in November), conducting seminars, workshops, and motivational sessions, and developing interdisciplinary research that connects Iqbal’s ideas with contemporary fields such as education, psychology, media, artificial intelligence, management, and Islamic thought.

A major milestone of the Chair is the launch of the HEC-recognized Y-category, bilingual (Urdu and English), biannual research journal, Payam-i-Iqbal: Bahria Research Journal on Iqbal Studies (BRJIS), which has been publishing original scholarship since 2022.

The Chair has also played a key role in faculty development, student grooming, and public outreach through radio and television programs. Student engagement is strengthened through initiatives such as Shaheen-e-Iqbal, a volunteer society focused on discipline, service, and leadership.

Believing in collaboration rather than competition, Iqbal Chair actively pursues national and international collaborations, academic programs, and innovative outreach initiatives. Through these efforts, the Chair aims to keep Iqbal’s message intellectually alive, socially relevant, and practically meaningful in the modern world.
