TWO DAYS ONLINE WORKSHOP:

The Centre hosted two days’ online workshop in collaboration with International Maritime Bureau (IMB), UK and Maritime Piracy Humanitarian Response Programme (MPHRP), UK on 21-22 August 2013 at Bahria University Karachi Campus. The topic of the workshop was Pre-Departure Piracy Awareness Training.

NATIONAL WORKSHOP:

A national workshop was held to devise a “Strategy for Cetacean Conservation” on 22 May 2013 at Bahria University, Karachi campus. The collaborative partners include World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF); Pakistan Whale and Dolphin Society, Australian Marine Mammal Centre and Indo-Pacific Cetacean Research and Conservation Foundation funded by the Australian government.

AN INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP AND CONFERENCE

An International Workshop and Conference (IWC 2012) was organized in collaboration with Fazaldad Human Rights Institute and Marine Affairs Program (MAP), Dalhousie University from 28 February to 2 March 2012 at Bahria University in Karachi.  The topic for this conference was “Human Face of Marine Piracy: Consequences & Policy Options”.

FACULTY TRAINING WORKSHOP

NCMPR in collaboration with Education Team of Corporate Media Associates Limited (CMA) UK had organized Two-day faculty training programme for BUIC and BUKC on 10 – 11 August 2009 & 12-13 August 2009 respectively. Programme included two components or phases. During phase one; faculty was introduced to teaching strategy, new educational methodology and instructional module to acquire basic information and skills regarding teaching plans, lesson planning, designing and class management etc. In the second phase of the training, special emphasis was given to research & critical thinking, plagiarism and e-learning, developing under graduate and postgraduate research programmes.  Dr. Klairoong Hawa Phairor (Faculty of Greenwich University) and Prof Peter Vlachos, Principal Lecturer Business School, University of Greenwich conducted a working session regarding critical thinking and management of student behaviour.
