National Centre for Maritime Policy Research (NCMPR), Bahria University is organizing 3rdNational Maritime Seminar (NMS 2016) on 21 January 2016 at Bahria University Karachi Campus. The theme set forth for this Seminar is “China – Pakistan Economic Corridor: it’s Maritime Implications for Pakistan”.
Admiral (Retd) Shahid Karimullah NI (M)and V/Adm Khalid M. Mir S Bt will grace the event as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively. Renowned scholars like Rear Admiral (Retd) Pervaiz Asghar HI(M), Mr. Khalid Rehman, Cdre Ali Abbas SI(M), Mr. Dostain Khan Jamaldini, Prof. Din Mohammad Kakarwill present their research papers regarding the topic.
The objectives of NMS 2016 are to deliberate; a) Maritime implications of China – Pakistan Economic Corridor: Its Maritime Implications for Pakistan, b) Socio-economic potential of the area, c) Augmentation of maritime security in the emerging scenario, d) Mitigation strategies to address natural disasters and the issues of climate change, e) Opportunities for regional co-operation in achieving socio-economic benefits through maritime sector, f) Measures for the sustainable development of the Gwadar area.
