CBT Subject Details
CBT / Admission Test Subjects (Undergraduate)
- BU Entrance Test of Undergraduate Programs for Management Sciences & Earth & Environmental Sciences shall be based on the pattern as mentioned below, 100 MCQs in a CBT. Each question shall be presented with four answer option. There is no negative marking. Only one of which shall be correct. The test shall carry 100 marks and time allowed shall be 120 minutes.
- Departments of Management Studies (BS-A&F, BS-SCM, BS-E&F, BS-Economics), Business Studies (BBA- 2&4 Years), Media Studies (BS-Media Studies, BS-TV Broadcasting), Humanities & Social Sciences (BS-IR, BS-Development Studies, BS-Public Health), Maritime Sciences (BS-Maritime 2 & 4 Years), Legal Studies (LLB) except BS (English) Program, and, the test shall consist of following 4 sections:
- Verbal ability
- Quantitative Reasoning
- Analytical Reasoning
- General Knowledge
- Departments of Computer Sciences (BS-CS, BS AI, BS-IT), Electrical Engineering (BS-EE), Software Engineering (BS-SE), Computer Engineering (BS-CE) the test consists of following 4 sections.
- Verbal ability
- Quantitative Reasoning
- Analytical Reasoning
- Physics and Maths
- Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences (BS-ES, BS-Geology, BS-Geo Physics, BS-Geo Sciences) the test consists of following 5 sections:
- Verbal ability
- Quantitative Reasoning
- Analytical Reasoning
- Biology or Maths
- Chemistry and Physics
- For BS (Psychology), BS (English) and BS (Islamic Studies) the test shall consist of following 3 sections:
- English
- General Knowledge
- Verbal Reasoning
- For semester based Medical Sciences (DPT & MLT etc) the test shall consist of following 4 sections:
- Verbal Ability
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
Note: Following academic subjects form Verbal Ability, Quantitative Reasoning and Analytical Reasoning:
- English Comprehension
- English Grammar
- Algebra
- General Maths

The test shall comprise on three/ four sections:
- Relevant Subject (except Business & Engineering Students)
- Verbal Reasoning
- Quantitative Reasoning
- Analytical Reasoning.
The actual percentage of each subject shall vary as shown below for following programs.
