Back in 2014 when I joined Bahria University’s E&ES department, I had no idea where I would be in the next 7 years, my journey basically started there with almost no eagerness but I gradually developed a passion for Geophysics.

At Bahria, I was awarded Merit Scholarship seven times for achieving highest score, was the Vice President at Society of Exploration Geophysicist and the Captain of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists’ Prestigious IBA Competition Team. Received AAPG L. Austin Weeks Merit Scholarship and SEG Grant for SLS Conference in California (USA) which was sponsored by Chevron. In 2018 I graduated with a CGPA of 3.93 in BS (Geophysics).

After my graduation, I got inducted as a Graduate Trainee at United Energy Pakistan Ltd in their Exploration Department (Former British Petroleum Pakistan) for two years and then worked as an Exploration Geophysicist when I completed my training there. That was a life changing experience for me, I learnt a lot while I was there which led me to another great opportunity at OGDCL.

I am currently working as an Exploration Geophysicist at OGDCL which is Pakistan’s Flagship Oil and Gas E&P Company where my job is to conduct seismic surveys on land, acquire, process and interpret the data to identify the possible subsurface locations for oil and gas reserves.

When I look back, I never thought I would be here working for one of the best Oil and Gas companies of Pakistan gaining lifelong skills and experience all because of my academic life.

Senior Manager

Redtone telecommunication Pakistan

Looking at the last decade, I have grown and learned a lot professionally owing to the relevant and useful knowledge that I acquired while studying Bachelor’s of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at Bahria University.

I have been recently promoted to Senior Manager Network Operation Center Voice & SMS at Redtone Telecommunications Pvt LTD, a Leading LDI in the country, and quite amusingly it is the company where I started my career from, as a Network Operation Center Executive. However, I had gotten a better opportunity at VoIP Monster LLC and I moved to Dubai soon after I started my first job. After that, I worked as Manager Technical at Munchen Teldeiensent, Germany and managed a multi-diverse team from all around the world. Working with culturally diverse teams helped me to gain international market knowledge and to make new connections. This experience helped me in landing the Managerial role at the place of my first job.

My message to the young guns can be describes by a quote , which says  “Great Things Never Come From Comfort Zones”, so get out of the comfort zone we have created around us.
