Bachelor of Studies in Media & Communication Studies

Important for all candidates

  • Applicant for admission MUST MEET THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS set-forth by Bahria University.
  • Candidates are advised to CONFIRM THEIR ELIGIBILITY prior apply.
  • In case of annual system, eligibility will be determined on the basis of result in percentages.
  • In case of semester system, eligibility will be determined on the basis of CGPA obtained out of 4.00.
  • In case the result is shown both in CGPA and percentage, CGPA will be considered.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs):

By the completion of Bachelor of Studies in Media & Communication Studies, the graduates will be able to:

  1. Analyze and critically evaluate core and advanced theories, research paradigms, and emerging trends in Media and Communication Studies, demonstrating intellectual competence across journalism, advertising and public relations, digital and electronic media, animation, film, and performing arts within local and global contexts.
  2. Design and produce high quality media content and communication campaigns by applying technical, creative, and production skills in areas such as electronic media broadcasting, animation design, film production, performing arts, advertising strategy, and digital content creation using contemporary tools and technologies.
  3. Demonstrate professional integrity and ethical responsibility while engaging with diverse audiences and media platforms, reflecting a commitment to responsible storytelling, inclusive representation, and constructive societal impact across all media specializations.

Eligibility Criteria

  • All candidates who have passed the intermediate examination or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in any discipline can apply for admission to BS Media Studies.
  • Students who have passed associate degree in media studies or 2 years BS / BSC or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks or 2.00/4.00 CGPA in any discipline can apply for admission in the 5th semester to BS Media & Communication Studies provided the candidate completes deficiencies up-to a maximum of 18 credit hours for associate degree holders and up to 21 credit hours for BS/B.Sc. degree holders (if required) as assessed by the department.
