Bahria University becomes the only university in Pakistan who has undertaken the study in the field of HIV/AIDS by executing the research project titled “Second Generation Surveillance among Key Populations Round V)” in 23 Cities pf Punjab. Bahria University’s human resource research skills are being developed in the field of Health Sector where research funding opportunities occurs more than in any other sector world wide. By gaining expertise in HIV/AIDS related research, Bahria University will become an asset for Pakistan as the whole research process will become indigenous for all future research endeavors.

The second Phase titled “Integrated Behavioral & Biological Survey (IBBS)” has been kick started through Training of Trainers conducted by Bahria University in Lahore from 2-4 November, 2016.

Technical Consultants from University of Manitoba, Canada imparted training to the field staff for successful execution of the survey. More then 100 participants from 13 cities of Punjab and 2 cities of KPK attended the training.

Dr. Faisal Aftab (Director ORIC) from Bahria University in his welcoming remarks expressed the commitment and dedication of BU for addressing the key problems of the marginalized population of Pakistan.

Dr. Quaid Saeed, Senior Program Manager-National Aids Control Program honored the training with his presence as Chief Guest. He highlighted the importance of this study in future policy measures of Government of Pakistan.
