BAHRIA UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
The Bahria University Alumni Association (BUAA) was registered as a NGO on 4th June 2008 under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860. BUAA shall be a non-profit and non-political organization, set up for the benefit and welfare of the Bahria University alumni, employees and ex-employees in particular and Pakistanis at large. The Registered office of the BUAA is situated at DSA office Bahria University, Shangrilla Road Naval Complex Islamabad. Any person, who has been awarded a degree/diploma by Bahria University, is eligible to acquire membership of the BUAA. Any faculty member/officer who has been a permanent member of Bahria University for a period of two or more years will also be eligible to be a member of BUAA.
Rector Bahria University will be the Patron of Bahria University Alumni Association. For registration purposes an ad-hoc Executive Committee was formed in February 2008. Till the elections to be held in January 2009 the ad-hoc Executive Committee shall exercise full powers for all organizational, administrative and financial activities of the BUAA. The Bahria University Alumni association has been formed to fulfill the following objectives:
a) To promote interaction among the members of BUAA so as to enable them to enhance social and intellectual relationships among them.
b) To provide for a conducive environment to the members of BUAA so as to enable them to establish professional networks among them.
c) To protect and promote the interests of the members of BUAA and Bahria University to take measures for their collective good.
d) To promote integration of the members into corporate, business, engineering and other sectors.
e) To provide a means of involvement by the members of BUAA to support the academic and research programs at Bahria University.
f) To provide welfare services for Bahria University alumni, employees and ex-employees through creation of job opportunities, placement services, unemployment bureau, career counseling and services.
g) To provide and promote establishment of scholarships, stipends, awards and prizes to needy, deserving or outstanding students at Bahria University or to the alumni for furtherance of higher studies.
h) To distribute free books for studies at Bahria University.
i) To find means to support the affected families of deceased alumni, employees and ex-employees.
j) To provide medical assistance to alumni, employees and ex-employees in any form required.
k) To establish and fund “chairs” in specific disciplines for professors and teachers at Bahria University or other universities and colleges of Pakistan.
l) To establish, construct, procure, and operate research and development facilities in any discipline.
m) To establish, construct, procure, and operate vocational training centers and institutions.
n) To establish, construct, procure, and operate special and public libraries and promote the proliferation of books and reading.
o) To publish books, magazines, newsletters, and any other publications that can be of benefit to the alumni, Bahria University or the interest of Pakistan.
p) To promote knowledge through any other means.
q) To establish, plan, develop building projects to be allotted to members of BUAA on commercial basis. The purpose of developing housing for members and their families is to use this means for raising funds for other activities of the BUAA.
r) To rent, lease, acquire land, property, building, etc. to promote the aims and objectives of the BUAA.
s) To sell, convey, dispose off any such property and to deal with and expand the principal and income of this BUAA for any of the aforementioned objects and purposes without limitations, except such limitations if any as may be contained in the instrument under which property is received or the limitation imposed by law
