The Department has recently launched BS Remote Sensing & GIS. The degree program involves the use of computer technology and spatial information to study natural processes and the interaction of humans with their environment. Students learn skills to support change and growth in areas like urban planning, mining and exploration, archaeology, transportation, and biodiversity management. The degree meets the growing need for specialists who know how to use these highly sophisticated systems. There is a strong demand for GIS skills across a range of areas including biodiversity and natural resources management, urban planning, mining and exploration, archaeology, transportation, and infrastructure management.

Environmental Science is an inter-disciplinary academic field that integrates physical, biological and geological sciences, and elaborates Environmental Systems of the earth to understand the ecosystems, environmental pollution, control and mitigation, natural resource management and the effects of global climate change. Key elements of an effective environmental scientist include the ability to relate spatial and temporal changes, relationships, and quantitative analysis. Work on real-world case studies and gain valuable industry experience through industry based learning opportunities during degree program.
